Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that Armenia is ready to join the Black Sea submarine cable project.
Pashinyan made the remark during a joint press conference with his Georgian counterpart Irakli Kobakhidze following the meeting of the Armenian-Georgian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation.
He emphasized the importance of inclusivity in regional and non-regional projects: "In this context, we emphasize that Armenia is interested and ready to join the Black Sea submarine cable project."

In December 2022, the governments of Azerbaijan, Hungary, Georgia, and Romania signed an agreement to lay a 1,200-kilometer submarine cable in the Black Sea to transmit 1 GW of electricity. This line will transport electricity produced in Azerbaijan through Georgia and the Black Sea to Romania, and subsequently to Hungary and the rest of Europe.
