Construction has begun on Azerbaijan’s largest solar power plant (SPP) in the Bilasuvar district.
The project was officially launched today with the installation of the first solar panel mount for the future plant, which will have a capacity of 445 megawatts.
On this occasion, Faig Gurbatov, Head of the Bilasuvar District Executive Power, Murad Sadikhov, Head of the Azerbaijan office of the UAE-based company Masdar, and Du Ning and Fan Tao, project managers from China Energy Development, visited the site to review the ongoing work.
During a meeting with the project team, it was noted that the implementation of this major initiative will significantly improve the district’s energy supply, expand the use of alternative energy sources, and contribute to the region’s sustainable development through the production of environmentally clean energy.
Representatives of the partner companies also provided information about the project. The event concluded with Faih Gurbatov and Murad Sadikhov signing the first solar panel mount, officially launching the construction phase.
