Azerbaijan's industrial zones, managed by the Agency for the Development of Economic Zones under the Ministry of Economy, are set to increase the use of green energy, the agency told Report.
The agency highlighted that obtaining resident status in an industrial zone requires companies to implement modern technologies and adhere to environmental standards.
Last year, the agency signed a memorandum of understanding with AGAS Group, a company specializing in the construction of alternative energy stations in Azerbaijan. This project aims to supply the Hajigabul Industrial Park with alternative energy. AGAS Group will carry out a technical and economic feasibility study for a 2.5 MW solar power plant, which will provide green energy to the park.
Additionally, solar panels are being used to power the social zone in the Aghdam Industrial Park and the Araz Valley Economic Zone.
The industrial zones are integrating modern technologies and innovative solutions. Residents of these zones are establishing an environmentally clean and fully sustainable production chain.
