The European Union (EU) launched a €3 million technical assistance project to support the development of a green and low-carbon hydrogen ecosystem in Türkiye, with the state-owned Turkish Petroleum Pipeline Corporation (BOTAS) as the main beneficiary, the company announced on Thursday.
The project titled "Boosting Green and Low-Carbon Hydrogen in Türkiye" aims to strengthen institutional capacity and enhance technical know-how in the hydrogen sector.
The project's key objectives are to conduct a technical evaluation of BOTAS' current infrastructure for its suitability with hydrogen technologies, develop a nationwide strategic Hydrogen Master Network Plan, and launch extensive capacity-building initiatives aimed at sectoral stakeholders.
The tender process, managed by the European Commission's Neighbourhood East & Türkiye Unit (ENEST.C), will accept applications electronically in English until July 15.
