Between July and December 2024, Kyrgyzstan's Green Energy Fund signed 42 agreements with investors to lease 3,964 hectares of land for renewable energy development. Of these, 31 plots are designated for small hydropower plants with a combined capacity of 351.97 MW, while 11 plots are reserved for solar power plants, offering a total capacity of 1,634.5 MW.
Over this six-month period, lease revenues reached 113 million KGS, a significant increase compared to zero revenue in 2023.
During the same timeframe, the Fund's tender commission held 18 meetings, reviewing 107 lots. Currently, the Fund oversees 68 land plots totaling 18,649 hectares, with nearly 15,000 hectares prepared for transfer to investors. According to Kundus Kyrbasheva, head of the Green Energy Fund, these achievements reflect the success of recent reforms and efforts to attract investors through a competitive process.
Additionally, the Fund has drafted a resolution for the Cabinet of Ministers aimed at guaranteeing the purchase of electricity from renewable energy facilities. Kyrbasheva noted that this initiative is expected to boost the implementation of green energy projects. The draft resolution has already been submitted to the Energy Ministry for coordination and approval.
