Opportunities for green energy supply between Azerbaijan and North Macedonia were assessed

A meeting between Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov and a delegation led by President of the Assembly ofthe Republic of North Macedonia Afrim Gashi was held at the Ministry of Energy, Renewables.az informs.

The opportunities for the development of bilateral relations, in particular, for deepening cooperation in the field of energy were discussed at the meeting. It was emphasized that political and economic relations between Azerbaijan and North Macedonia, as well as cooperation in the energy field, have developed in recent years. It was noted that the supply of natural gas from Azerbaijan to North Macedonia has been successfully continued since last year, interest in expanding this cooperation in the long term and full support for the development of energy partnership was expressed by the Parliament of North Macedonia.

During the conversation, information was given about energy projects implemented by Azerbaijan with the European Union and member countries, including the Southern Gas Corridor, green energy corridors and the development of renewable energy sources. Azerbaijan's plans to increase the share of renewable sources in the country's installed energy capacity by 2027 to 33%, and by 2035 to 44%, and the steps taken to export green energy to the European market were discussed. In this context, opportunities for the green energy supply were also assessed.
