As of March 31, ACWA Power has invested 1.073 billion Saudi riyals (equivalent to $286 million) in the construction of the 240-megawatt Khizi Absheron Wind Farm, Report informs referring to the company's quarterly update.

As noted by ACWA Power CEO Marco Arcelli, in the first quarter of 2025, the company continued to actively develop new business areas: “These initiatives form the basis for sustainable and predictable future revenue and cash flow, and also have a positive impact on current financial results due to revenues from development, procurement and construction management,” the update says.

Selim Guven, ACWA Power CEO for Azerbaijan and Türkiye, told Report that the launch of phased electricity production at the station is scheduled for August 2025, and full commissioning is scheduled for the fourth quarter of this year. He noted that the installation of all 12 turbines at the Absheron (Gobustan) site of the station has been completed to date. Their launch is expected in the third quarter of 2025. In parallel, turbines are being installed at the Khizi site.

After the completion of construction, the wind farm will be able to annually produce up to 907 million kWh of clean electricity, which is enough to supply more than 300,000 households in Azerbaijan. It should be noted that the wind power plant is located in the Absheron (site 1) and Khizi (Khizi 3) districts, in the villages of Chayli and Sitalchay. A total of 37 wind turbines are planned to be installed: 12 at the Absheron site and 25 in Khizi.
