ASOIU delegation visited research centres at the University of Warwick

Rufat Azizov, Rector of the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU), and Orkhan Karimzade, Rector’s Advisor on Scientific Development, paid a visit to the University of Warwick as part of the international Dual Degree Program in “Renewable Energy” at the master’s level.

During the visit, the ASOIU delegation met with the representatives of the University of Warwick and took part in a presentation on the university’s educational and research opportunities. The meeting provided detailed information on innovative projects implemented at Warwick, examples of collaboration with industry, and opportunities for international partnerships.

The ASOIU delegation also visited a number of advanced research centres under Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG). The delegation was introduced to the activities of the WMG Steel Processing and Applications Centre, the WMG Energy Innovation Centre, the UK Battery Industrialisation Centre (UKBIC), and the WMG Laser Processing Research Centre. They were provided with extensive information about new technologies and applied research directions aimed at addressing the current challenges of industry.

Rector Rufat Azizov highlighted the importance of the visit, stating:

“The purpose of ASOIU’s cooperation with the University of Warwick goes beyond education. Our main goal is to expand this partnership into the field of research, implement joint projects, and ensure closer integration between universities and industry.”

It should be noted that ASOIU and the University of Warwick are jointly implementing an international Dual Degree Program in “Renewable Energy” at the master’s level. The program enriches students’ theoretical knowledge and practical skills, enabling them to become competitive specialists aligned with global trends in the energy sector.
