Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov met with Pham Minh Tuan, CEO of Vietnam’s ROX Energy Global.

During the meeting, issues related to the implementation of a 200 MW wind energy project in Azerbaijan with the company were discussed. Activities such as identifying suitable sites for the project, preparing the feasibility study and conducting wind measurements were reviewed.

The parties also exchanged views on opportunities to implement a solar energy project in Nakhchivan. It was noted that the development of renewable energy projects in Nakhchivan is being pursued in line with the region’s Green Energy Zone concept and green energy export plans. The availability of suitable sites for a potential solar energy project, its integration into the power system and the sale of the electricity to be generated were discussed. In this context, information was provided on the work being carried out to connect Nakhchivan to Azerbaijan’s main power system, as well as to establish the Nakhchivan–Türkiye electricity interconnection. The strategic importance of developing infrastructure that will enable electricity exports from Nakhchivan to Türkiye was highlighted.

It should be noted that, in 2025, a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of renewable energy was signed between Azerbaijan Renewable Energy Agency under the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan and ROX Group.
