Equinor aims to sell 8% stake in solar energy firm Scatec

Norway's Equinor said on Monday it is contemplating a ​sale of some 12.9 million ​shares in Scatec, representing around ⁠8.1% of the ​solar energy firm's share ​capital.

Equinor said Brokers Morgan Stanley and Nordea are conducting an ​accelerated bookbuilding to ​sell the stake, which represents around ‌half ⁠of the oil and energy company's 16.1% holding in Scatec.

Equinor did ​not provide ​a ⁠reason for its planned divestment.

Scatec's share ​price has risen ​26.6% ⁠year-to-date and is up 87% in the last ⁠12 ​months, according ​to LSEG data.
