The CIS’s first fully autonomous solar-powered charging station for electric vehicles has been unveiled in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan.
Renewables.az reports that the information was published by Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.
The new station operates independently of the city’s electricity grid (off-grid). Located on the premises of the Alatau Sports Complex, the station was developed by local company BOLASHAQ POWER. It combines a 100 kW solar power plant with a 645 kWh energy storage system.
Representatives of government agencies and relevant state institutions attended the opening ceremony of the electric vehicle charging station.
