Germany’s Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur) has announced the results of its latest auction for ground-mounted solar PV systems and other “first-segment” installations, with winning bids remaining well under the maximum allowable price.

The auction, which closed on 1 July 2025, offered a capacity of 2,266 MW but was oversubscribed, attracting 313 bids for a total of 2,820 MW. Of these, 258 bids representing 2,271 MW were successful, while 36 were excluded.

Award prices ranged from €0.040 to €0.0626 per kWh, with the average volume-weighted price reaching €0.0484/kWh — slightly above the previous round’s €0.0466/kWh. According to Bundesnetzagentur President Klaus Müller, sustained competition has kept prices stable for more than a year, providing a reliable environment for participants.

Bavaria again secured the largest share of capacity at 689 MW (106 winning bids), followed by Rhineland-Palatinate with 251 MW and Lower Saxony with 250 MW.

The next auction for this category is scheduled to close on 1 December 2025.
