“Up to now, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan have joined the Accelerated Partnership for Renewable Energy for Central Asia (APRECA) program. We invite Turkmenistan to join this partnership and speed up its efforts towards a sustainable energy future,” said Francesco La Camera, Director-General of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), at the roundtable marking the International Day of Clean Energy.
“IRENA will host the Energy Transition Investment Forum for Central Asia in Azerbaijan in June 2026. Our agency aims to bridge the investment gap and support promising renewable energy projects in emerging markets. Financing is fundamental to all aspects of our energy, climate and socio-economic goals,” the Director-General added.
