A total of 60.1 million kWh of electricity has been generated at the Yukhari Vang Hydropower Plant on the Tartar River in Kalbajar district since it was commissioned through August 1 this year, while the Zar Small Hydropower Plant produced 4.6 million kWh.

The ministry said the rich hydropower potential of the liberated territories is helping expand the use of renewable energy sources, increase green energy production, and support the development of sustainable and environmentally friendly urban environments in these areas.
The 22.5 MW Yukhari Vang Hydropower Plant on the Tartar River and the 4.3 MW Zar Small Hydropower Plant on the Zar River were commissioned in Kalbajar district on September 2, 2024.
