The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and SOCAR, is launching an awareness campaign titled Energy Efficiency Month in five schools.

The main goal of the month-long project is to develop knowledge and skills among students on energy efficiency, energy conservation and sustainable energy culture.

Within the campaign, awareness sessions will be conducted in schools alongside creative competitions and intellectual games dedicated to the topic of energy efficiency.

The winning students will be awarded with prizes and certificates.

Additionally, a group of Energy Efficiency Volunteers, consisting of 5 students, will be established in each school. These volunteers will actively participate in promoting daily energy-saving practices and monitoring the switching off of lights and electrical equipment in unused rooms. As part of the project, electricity consumption in the pilot schools will be measured before and after the initiative, the amount of energy savings achieved will be determined, and a comparative analysis will be conducted among the schools. An exemplary school achieving the highest level of energy savings will be identified.

It should be noted that the project covers students from grades 4 to 8 and is implemented within the Ministry of Energy’s Switch Off and Win! campaign.
