Wind turbine maker Senvion India said it has tied up with three units of Indian conglomerate KP Group to jointly develop up to 2 GW of wind and hybrid solar-wind projects across their home country.

The projects will be spread across multiple locations and will be executed over the next three years. Under the framework agreement, Senvion India, KPI Green Energy Ltd, KP Energy Ltd and KP Green Engineering Ltd will seek to deliver a turnkey-like solution that integrates development, turbine supply, erection, and commissioning into a streamlined process.

Specifically, KP Group will take care of site identification and development of the projects, handling land acquisition, permits and approvals, and the full Balance of Plant (BoP) activities. Senvion India will be the technology supplier for the wind turbines.

“By pairing KP Group’s development and BoP strengths with Senvion’s made-in-India turbine platforms, customers get a seamless, turnkey-like path from planning to generation,” said Amit Kansal, CEO of Senvion India.

Mumbai-based Senvion India is owned by Global Renewable Energy Development Holding Company Limited (GREDHCL), a Dubai-based investment arm of the Alfanar Group.
