About Us
Renewables.az is a renewable energy news portal that commenced its operations on 2 April 2021 with the publication of its first news article covering the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on measures for implementing the pilot project for the construction of a 230 MW solar power plant. Since its establishment, the portal has prioritized delivering accurate, timely, and verified news on the renewable energy sector.
The portal was shortlisted for Azerbaijan's 17th and 18th National Internet Awards (NETTY 2022 and NETTY 2023) and also participated in the MilliNet 2023 competition.

Our Mission
The primary purpose of the website is to present the most significant developments in the renewable energy sector across Azerbaijan, the region, and the world on a single platform, enabling readers to follow the industry through a single source while contributing to the development of high-quality content.
As part of Azerbaijan's "Year of Solidarity for a Green World" initiative in 2024, the English version of the portal was launched to strengthen the international promotion of the country's green energy agenda. In addition, the portal's Russian and Turkish language test versions were available from November 2024 to April 2025.

New cooperation opportunities with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) arising from the COP29 Climate Conference in Baku, the growing importance of nuclear energy as a clean energy source within the global energy transition, international and regional market trends, and the results of a reader survey, the portal launched a dedicated Nuclear Energy section featuring selected news and developments.
The Energy Efficiency section was created to promote the efficient use of energy resources—one of the key pillars of renewable energy development and decarbonization policies—while providing comprehensive coverage of related policies, projects, and industry developments.
In line with the designation of Karabakh, East Zangezur, and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic as green energy zones, the Green Energy Zone section covers projects and key developments taking place across these territories.
Updates on regional electricity interconnection initiatives involving Azerbaijan are published in the Green Energy Corridor section.
The Reports section features analytical articles, market research, and official reports related to the renewable energy sector.
News from major national and international events where Renewables.az serves as an official media partner is available in the Events section.

Our audience includes representatives of government institutions, company executives, energy professionals, engineers, investors, researchers, and students. Over the past 12 months, the portal's content shared on LinkedIn has reached more than 1.1 million people.
According to Google Search Console data, content published by Renewables.az is regularly referenced by domestic and international media outlets, academic institutions, think tanks, and global organizations. To date, the website has received more than 175 hyperlink citations, while the number of text-based references is estimated to be in the thousands. During the past 12 months, Renewables.az recorded more than 736,000 impressions and over 11,900 organic clicks through Google Search. The platform achieved an average click-through rate (CTR) of approximately 1.62%, a strong performance for a specialized energy news portal.
According to Google Analytics, the website recorded more than 70,000 views and over 43,000 active users over the past six months. The portal's largest readership is based in China, Singapore, Azerbaijan, and the United States, reflecting its growing international reach. Today, Renewables.az reaches readers in more than 150 countries worldwide.
