Azerbaijan possesses abundant wind energy resources and offers significant opportunities in this field, Mahdi Al-Adel, CEO of Aramco Ventures, stated at the 1st Azerbaijan International Investment Forum (AIIF-2025), held in Baku.
The CEO noted that while Azerbaijan has renewable energy projects, windless days or lack of sunlight can limit their effectiveness: "That's why grid-scale energy storage is considered a major opportunity. Technologies such as direct air capture and carbon footprint reduction, as well as those enabling continued hydrocarbon extraction, are areas we invest in and that Azerbaijan can also adopt."
"The major progress we see at Aramco stems from the development and application of technology," Al-Adel added.
