A meeting was held between Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov and Berlian Helmy, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to Azerbaijan.
At the meeting, the expanding cooperation opportunities between Azerbaijan and Indonesia in the field of energy were discussed. In this regard, the energy cooperation prospects in the areas of energy security, renewable energy and sustainable development, as well as promoting business and investment were considered.
Particular attention was given to the continuation of crude oil supplies from Azerbaijan to Indonesia within the framework of energy security, participation in joint exploration and production projects in the oil and gas sector, as well as the development of cooperation between SOCAR and Pertamina in the fields of petroleum products and oil and gas processing. It was emphasized that both countries have significant potential for the development of renewable energy resources and cooperation opportunities in wind and solar energy projects, the application of waste energy production technologies, as well as biomass-based energy production were noted. During the meeting, it was noted that along with government agencies in the energy sector, the private sector should be actively involved in the cooperation process. It was agreed to hold the first meeting of the Working Group in the field of energy in the near future.
