Azerbaijan considers renewable energy cooperation with Egypt’s Elsewedy Electric

Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov met with Egypt’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Houssam-Eldine Reda.

According to the Ministry of Energy, the meeting highlighted the importance of reciprocal visits by the heads of state and the agreements reached in strengthening ties between the two countries.

Egypt’s interest in expanding large-scale energy cooperation with Azerbaijan was highlighted, with the signing of a framework agreement between SOCAR and EGPC welcomed as a significant step.

The meeting also discussed opportunities for cooperation with Elsewedy Electric S.A.E. in the field of renewable energy. Prospects for joint projects were reviewed in the context of growing electricity demand and export opportunities linked to the expected expansion of data centers in Azerbaijan in the future.

In addition, the Egyptian side was invited to participate with a large delegation in the events to be held within the framework of Baku Energy Week.
