Within the opening ceremony of the Khizi-Absheron Wind Power Plant, a meeting was held between Parviz Shahbazov, Minister of Energy and Nasser Al-Qahtani, Assistant Minister of Energy for Electricity Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
According to the Azerbaijan's Ministry of Energy, they expressed satisfaction with strong friendship and partnership relations between the two countries.
The Khizi-Absheron Wind Power Plant with a capacity of 240 MW, implemented with ACWA Power Company, was valued as a symbol of brotherhood and partnership. It was noted that this cooperation will expand with other promising projects.
During the conversation, the sides exchanged views on cooperation with Saudi Arabia in the OPEC plus format, as well as in the areas of hydrocarbon, renewable energy, energy efficiency and regulation. Regional links in the energy sector, opportunities for cooperation between Central Asia, Europe and the Middle East within the framework of plans to increase energy interconnectivity were evaluated.
