A ceremony was held to mark the installation of the first solar panel at the Bilasuvar Solar Power Plant with a capacity of 445 MW.
It was noted that it is planned to install more than 943 thousand bifacial solar panels manufactured bby the China` JA Solar company in Bilasuvar SPP with a total area of 1400 hectares. The panels, each with a capacity of 625–630 W, are being brought to the site in stages. The plant will be equipped with 8,131 single-axis tracking systems. After commissioning, the cleaning of the panels will be carried out automatically using special devices. The plant is scheduled to be put into operation next year.
Head of the Bilasuvar District Executive Authority Faiq Gurbatov, Director of the AREA Cavid Abdullayev, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Azerenerji OJSC Rustam Gasimov, Chief Operating Officer of Masdar Abdulaziz Alobaidli, SOCAR Vice President Afgan Isayev, General Director of SOCAR Green Elmir Musayev, as well as other representatives attended at the event and emphasized the importance of the project. It was noted in the speeches that Bilasuvar SPP, implemented in accordance with Azerbaijan's renewable energy goals, will be one of the largest solar energy projects in the region both in terms of production capacity and in terms of the scale of technologies used.
Officials and guests participating in the ceremony symbolically signed the solar panels and took part in the installation of the first unit.
