On October 21, a ceremony for the exchange of Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan documents took place in Astana, with the participation of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov and Chairman of the Board of Kazakhstan’s "Samruk-Kazyna National Welfare Fund" Joint Stock Company Nurlan Zhakupov exchanged the "Framework Agreement on the Establishment of a Joint Investment Mechanism between the Samruk-Kazyna Azerbaijan Investment Holding Investment Fund LLC and the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR)."
According to the Samruk-Kazyna, under the signed agreement, the parties plan to define a portfolio of joint projects in the energy sector, including renewable energy sources and energy efficiency. The Fund will act as a minority shareholder.
