"As Siemens Energy, we highly value the Green Energy Corridor project," Renewables.az reports that Maxim Zubov, Vice President for Türkiye, Central Asia and Western Europe at Siemens Energy, made the remarks while sharing his views on the “Green Energy Corridor: From Feasibility Study to Implementation” Forum, held in Baku on October 22.
"This is a highly ambitious international initiative that provides significant support for the development of local renewable energy resources. We believe the project offers considerable opportunities to contribute to the diversification of Europe's energy supply and strengthen energy interconnections between countries.
At the same time, the project promises significant benefits for the strengthening and development of Azerbaijan's electricity grid.
As one of Europe's leading suppliers of high-voltage direct current (HVDC) technologies, we are exploring opportunities to support the project by providing technological solutions for HVDC converter substations.
I can confirm that our technical team is engaged in detailed discussions with the client, representatives of the Green Energy Corridor project and the design institute to develop the most optimal technical solution for this project.
In our view, this project will make a significant contribution to expanding energy interconnections between countries and supporting regional development.
What other forms of support can our company provide to the project beyond supplying technical solutions?
First of all, I would like to emphasize that Siemens Energy is a European company. We have an extensive network of customers and partners across Europe.
In this regard, we are ready to support the organization of discussions and the establishment of connections with potential electricity buyers and customers in Europe.
We believe that, in doing so, we can make an additional contribution to the successful implementation of the project," Zubov said in the interview.
It should be noted that a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) has been signed between Germany's Siemens Energy Global GmbH & Co. KG and Green Energy Corridor Power Company (GECO). The two companies are cooperating in the field of green electricity transmission using high-voltage direct current (HVDC) technology.
