The Trump route (TRIPP, Zangazur Corridor) will complement existing energy infrastructure and projects in the region initiated by Azerbaijan, including the Southern Gas Corridor and the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline, providing new routes and expanding diversification opportunities, Azerbaijani Deputy Energy Minister Orkhan Zeynalov said during the first Azerbaijan International Investment Forum (AIIF 2025).
"Additional flexibility is always an advantage for both the energy sector and business. These are new routes. Secondly, this could be an option not only for traditional energy but also for transporting electricity, green energy, and hydrogen from various regions of Azerbaijan, as well as from the Caspian Sea and Central Asia. In this sense, the project could fundamentally change the nature of energy connections and interconnections in the region," Zeynalov noted.
