“The “Khizi-Absheron” Wind Power Plant is ACWA Power’s gateway project in Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan is not just a market for us; it is a country with a long history of strong relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Azerbaijan,” Abid Malik, President for Central Asia at ACWA Power, told AZERTAC.
According to him, this is the largest renewable energy project ever implemented by ACWA Power in Azerbaijan and across the entire South Caucasus region.
“One of the most important contributions of the project is its environmental impact. Another key value we bring is local content. There are three sources of local content: first, youth development; second, cooperation with local manufacturers and suppliers; and third, the procurement of goods and products from the Azerbaijani market,” he added.
