Last year, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Uzbekistan laid the foundation for the Caspian Green Energy Corridor by signing the Agreement on Strategic Partnership in the field of green energy development and transmission.

Renewables.az reports, citing the Press Service of the President of Azerbaijan, that Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev made the remarks at the 7th Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) in Baku.

"This corridor is designed to connect our electricity grids and deliver electricity to European markets via the Black Sea," - Tokayev noted.

Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, also congratulating Azerbaijan on its achievements, stated: “During its two-year chairmanship, Azerbaijan has successfully promoted climate resilience and the transition to green energy. The Chinese side also supports the continuation of Azerbaijan’s chairmanship.”
