Azerbaijan took part in the international Global Offshore Wind 2026 conference held in Manchester, United Kingdom.
Renewables informs that the delegation included representatives of the Azerbaijan Renewable Energy Agency (AREA), SOCAR Green, Azerbaijan Green Energy Company (AGEC), and Green Corridor Union LLC.
During the conference, the delegation joined exhibitions and panel discussions at the Manchester Central Convention Complex, met with numerous international companies active in offshore wind energy, and held networking sessions.
A special event was also arranged for Azerbaijan's delegation, where UK companies representing the offshore wind supply chain delivered presentations. At this event, AREA's Deputy Director Fagan Abdurahmanov gave a talk titled Azerbaijan's Renewable Energy Transition and 2030 Vision, highlighting the country's offshore wind potential, ongoing projects, and international investment opportunities.
As part of the visit, the delegation toured RWE's offshore wind farms Gwynt y Môr and Rhyl Flats in Wales. At the Mostyn port program, participants were introduced to the management system of offshore wind parks, offshore substations, and operational processes.
This visit holds significant importance for expanding international cooperation in offshore wind energy, learning advanced practices, and assessing potential investment opportunities. The visit was organized with the support of the UK government and at the invitation of the Azerbaijani Embassy.
