Azerbaijan, Türkiye discuss green energy interconnector projects

Azerbaijan and Türkiye discussed issues related to global energy security, Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov said.

He said the discussions took place during a meeting with Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.

Shahbazov said in a post on X that the talks also covered the bilateral energy agenda, hydrocarbon and green energy exports, as well as issues related to the next meeting of the Azerbaijan–Türkiye Energy Forum.

According to the Ministry, the meeting touched upon the role of the Azerbaijani-Turkish energy partnership in ensuring global energy security and sustainable energy supply. The current situation in the field of gas supply has been assessed. Also, the development of Azerbaijan-Türkiye-Europe and Azerbaijan-Georgia-Türkiye-Bulgaria green energy interconnector projects was considered. It was agreed to speed up the processes. The next meeting of the Azerbaijan-Türkiye Energy Forum was held in Azerbaijan during the year.
