Armenia, through its current policies, could secure a peace dividend by participating in green energy corridors, Azerbaijan's Deputy Minister of Energy Elnur Soltanov said in an interview with Report during the Belgrade Energy Forum.

Soltanov emphasized that Azerbaijan's energy policy aligns with its peace policy: "Relations with Armenia, the Zangazur Corridor, and connecting Nakhchivan to Azerbaijan's main energy system create hope that new green energy projects will not only supply energy to our neighbors and us but also contribute significantly to lasting peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia."

He noted that Azerbaijan's oil exports also represent the export of energy security and stability. Armenia, he said, had long remained outside energy coalitions due to its choices, but now every step toward peace brings economic and energy security benefits:

"By staying outside Azerbaijan's oil and gas projects, Armenia lost economically. But with its current peace-oriented policies, it can gain a place in green energy corridors – a true peace dividend. This shows the link between military and economic outcomes: those who lose militarily also lose economically, and Armenia is now aware of this. Azerbaijan maintains economic relations with countries that take steps toward peace."
