The first nacelles, hubs, generators, and towers for the construction of a 100 MW wind farm have arrived in the Issyk-Kul region of Kyrgyzstan. The project, located in the village of Kok-Moinok in Balykchy, is being implemented by Rosatom, according to the company’s website.
The construction plans were first announced at the VII Kyrgyz-Russian Economic Forum, held from 13–15 August in the Issyk-Kul region. Design work and construction are scheduled to start between 2025 and 2026.
Kyrgyz Energy Minister Taalaibek Ibraev noted that the country has substantial renewable energy potential, and the new wind farm will help harness it for the benefit of the republic’s residents.
