It has been two years since the Garadagh Solar Power Plant (SPP), the largest renewable energy facility in the Caspian and Caucasus regions with a capacity of 230 MW, was commissioned.
The plant was officially inaugurated on October 26, 2023, in a ceremony attended by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the UAE’s Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber.
Developed by the UAE-based company Masdar, the project attracted an investment of 262 million USD and is expected to operate for 23 years.
Earlier this week, a ceremony was held to celebrate the production of 1 billion kWh of electricity at the Qaradag Solar Power Plant.
