Green Corridor Alliance JV and China Southern Power Grid Company Limited have discussed opportunities for strategic cooperation in the development of cross-border energy infrastructure and high-voltage electricity transmission projects.

Renewables.Az reports, citing Green Corridor Alliance, that a visit to Guangzhou, China, took place from October 21 to 24 for this purpose.

During the visit, meetings were held with representatives of China Southern Power Grid Company Limited to discuss opportunities for strategic cooperation. Technical site visits were also conducted to the Guangdong Suidong and Huizhou Longmen converter stations, providing valuable insights into China's advanced ultra-high-voltage electricity transmission technologies and large-scale power grid integration.

An important milestone in the cooperation was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between China Southern Power Grid Company Limited International (HK) Co., Limited and Green Corridor Alliance.

The memorandum establishes a framework for joint analyses and studies on the feasibility of high-voltage electricity transmission projects in the Caspian region, as well as exploring broader consulting and cooperation opportunities.

During the visit, a meeting was also held with Gong Yu, Vice President of China Southern Power Grid International (HK). The discussions focused on potential business models, long-term partnership opportunities, technical assistance, engineering expertise and ways to optimize capital expenditure (CAPEX).

The cooperation is expected to create opportunities to leverage China's extensive experience in high-voltage electricity transmission, strengthen regional energy connectivity and support the development of strategic green energy corridors.
