Given the solar potential and particularly its hydropower potential of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, even more extensive work will be carried out here, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said in an interview with Azerbaijan Television in Nakhchivan, Renewables.az reports, citing the Presidential Press Service.
"For instance, one of the issues on the agenda is the project to construct a hydroelectric power plant with a capacity of slightly over 15 megawatts in the village of Tivi in the Ordubad district. We will also allocate funds for continued work on this power plant. Local investors, as I mentioned, are constructing 50-megawatt solar power plants. Foreign investors are also showing interest."
