Implementation schedule for monitoring green technology deployment in the liberated territories approved for 2026

The Ministry of Energy has convened the 11th meeting of the working group tasked with coordinating and monitoring the application of green technologies and energy efficiency standards in the liberated territories.

Chairman of the Working Group, Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov spoke about the large-scale restoration and construction work carried out in the liberated territories in accordance with the relevant orders and instructions of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev. It was noted that more than 65 thousand people live in these areas, as well as settlements and social and infrastructure facilities put into operation and laid foundation since the last meeting. It was reported that, within the implementation of green energy technologies, the foundation stones of the Shams and Ufug solar power plants, each with a capacity of 50 MW, have been laid in Jabrayil, construction and development works are ongoing at the Shafag solar power plant, measurements and monitoring of wind energy potential have commenced in Kalbajar, and a total of 38 hydropower plants with an overall capacity of 307 MW are currently operating in the liberated territories.

Reports on the implementation of decisions made at the previous meeting of the Working Group, the results of monitoring on the application of green technologies and energy efficiency were heard. The results of the monitoring carried out in Fuzuli and Agdam cities, Dovlatyarli of Fuzuli region, Sarijali, Kangarli and Khidirli villages of Agdam region, Mahruzlu and Zilanli villages of Gubadli region were reviewed. Indicators on the use of solar panels, collectors, solar energy-based LED lighting equipment, LED-based lighting fixtures, poles, smart parking lots, insulation materials in construction were brought to the attention. 

At the meeting, discussions were also held on heat supply and analysis of the current situation in residential complexes. The implementation schedule for monitoring the implementation of green technologies and energy efficiency in the liberated territories for 2026 has been approved.

In addition to the state institutions that are members of the Working Group, the meeting was attended by the representatives of the Special Representative Offices of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the liberated territories, the Restoration, Construction and Management Service public legal entity, the Shusha City State Reserve Administration, and Azeristiliktechizat OJSC.
