Africa-focused renewable energy company Infinity Power announced that it has achieved financial close with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) on a 200-MW onshore wind project in Egypt and is ready to launch construction works in September.

The project is located in Ras Ghareb and is scheduled to go live in the summer of 2027. Once fully operational, it will generate around 810,000 MWh of clean electricity annually, enough to meet the power needs of about 311,000 local homes and eliminate about 400,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions per year.

The Ras Ghareb wind farm has a power purchase agreement (PPA) in place with EETC.

Infinity is jointly owned by Abu Dhabi-based Masdar, as the majority shareholder, and Egypt’s Infinity. The company was established in 2019 and targets 10 GW of renewable energy by 2030.
