The Ministry of Energy has convened the 12th Meeting of the working group tasked with coordinating and monitoring the application of green technologies and energy efficiency standards in the liberated territories.
Deputy Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov spoke about the large-scale restoration and construction work carried out in the liberated territories in accordance with the relevant orders and instructions of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev. The information was given about the settlements and socio-infrastructure, including energy facilities, which were put into operation and laid the foundation since the last meeting. It was noted that the construction of a substation at the Shafag Solar Power Station in Jabrayil was completed within the framework of the application of green energy technologies, and the installation of solar panels has now begun. It was also noted that the implementation of the projects of Shams and Ufug solar power plants with a capacity of 50 MW each, and the measurement and observation work in preparation for the construction of a 240 MW wind power plant in Kalbajar were continued.
Reports on the implementation of decisions made at the previous meeting of the Working Group, the results of monitoring on the application of green technologies and energy efficiency were heard. The results of the monitoring conducted in Zangilan and Kalbajar, as well as in the villages of Mammadbeyli and Jahangirbeyli (in Zangilan); Horovlu, Soltanli, and Shukurbeyli (in Jabrayil); Zar (in Kalbajar); and Sugovushan, Chapar, Hasanriz, Vangli, and Kolatag (in Aghdara), have been reviewed. Information on the current status on the procedure for installing rooftop solar panels in the territories and registering citizens as active consumers was brought to the attention. It has been reported that, to date, in the liberated territories, solar panels with a total capacity exceeding 7,000 kW have been installed in more than 2,000 individual residential houses, as well as in public and social buildings, along with over 7,000 LED-based lighting units. Approximately 40% or 3000 units of them are solar-powered hybrid systems.
At the meeting, discussions were also held on gas and heat supply in residential complexes. At the end of the discussions, an agreement was reached on taking appropriate measures to implement the proposals put forward.
