Samir Akhundov, Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan Energy Regulatory Agency (AERA), attended the Energy Regulators Regional Association (ERRA) Meeting of Member Chairmen, Presidents and Commissioners, as well as the ERRA Ad Hoc General Assembly, held in Athens, Greece, on Oct. 26.
At the meeting, hosted by Greece’s Regulatory Authority for Energy, Waste and Water (RAAEY), participants were briefed on ERRA’s mapping exercise, as well as on Hungary’s use case of artificial intelligence for regulators, Latvia’s case study on flexible grid connection services and Thailand’s case study on peer-to-peer (P2P) energy trading.
The meeting also reviewed ERRA’s special publication on energy storage technologies, as well as country case presentations from Türkiye and Greece.
AERA has been an associate member of ERRA since 2018. This cooperation enables the exchange of international experience in energy regulation and the establishment of cooperative ties with the regulatory authorities of many countries.
