Samruk-Energy and China Energy advance 800 MW renewable projects in Kazakhstan

Chairman of the Management Board of Samruk-Energy JSC Kairat Maksutov held a meeting with Mr. Qiao Xubin, President of China Energy International Group Co., Ltd., attended by executives of Energy China subsidiaries, according to Samruk-Energy.

The parties discussed Energy China’s ongoing and planned investment activities in Kazakhstan. A key focus of cooperation is a renewable energy project with a total capacity of 800 MW, including the construction of a 300 MW solar power plant in the Turkistan region and a 500 MW wind power plant in the Karaganda region.

The discussion covered the project’s implementation progress and upcoming steps, including the signing of the EPC contract for the solar project and the start of construction in the fourth quarter of this year.

The sides also reaffirmed their commitment to continue joint work on project and technical solutions aimed at the modernization and digitalization of Samruk-Energy’s existing facilities under the Strategic Agreement signed at the SCO Summit on September 2 this year.
