The next seminar within the framework of the Azerbaijan Energy Regulatory Agency’s (AERA) “Energy Talks” project was organized jointly with Baku Engineering University (BEU). The event was attended by BEU faculty members, undergraduate and graduate students in “Electrical and Electronics Engineering” and “Power Engineering”, as well as representatives of AERA.
In his opening remarks, BEU Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation Aghasi Malikov emphasized the important role of the energy sector in the country’s economic development and in ensuring a sustainable future. He noted that the seminar serves as an important platform for students to expand their knowledge of the current challenges, opportunities and prospects in the energy sector, and expressed confidence that the discussions and presentations would be useful and contribute to the generation of new ideas.
Zeynab Kazimova, Head of AERA’s Press Section and Press Secretary, expressed her gratitude to the BEU leadership for their support in organizing the event. She provided brief information about the “Energy Talks” project, spoke about the seminars organized for students at various higher education institutions, and noted that this seminar was the second such event held in cooperation with BEU.
During the seminar, Vusala Latifova, Lead Specialist of AERA’s State Programs and Strategic Development Division, delivered a presentation titled “The Country’s Energy Policy from a Regulatory Perspective”, Matin Shikhiyev, Specialist of AERA’s Liberalization in the Energy Sector Division, gave a presentation titled “A Look at the Renewable Energy Sector”, and Shahin Maharramli, Deputy Director of AERA’s Energy Efficiency Department and Head of the Projects Section, delivered a presentation on “The Activities of the Energy Efficiency Fund.”
The seminar continued in an interactive atmosphere, with discussions on the topics presented and participants’ questions answered.
