The meeting of the Working Group on Connection to Power Supply Networks was held

The next meeting of the Working Group on connection to power supply networks of the Commission on Business Environment and International Rankings was held. The representatives from the Ministries of Energy, Economy, Digital Development and Transport, Internal Affairs, State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture, Azerishig OJSC, Small and Medium Business Development Agency and Azerbaijan Energy Regulatory Agency participated at the meeting.

The head of the Working Group, Deputy Energy Minister Samir Valiyev informed about the issues on the agenda and drew attention to the implementation of these issues in the most optimal form.

Head of the Secretariat of the Commission Vusal Shikhaliyev spoke about the measures taken and the results achieved in connection with the Utilities (electricity) indicator of the World Bank's Business Ready report. He noted that measures aimed at improving legislation and communication work have increased consumer satisfaction and improved the business environment.

Deputy Head of the Working Group, First Deputy Chairman of Azerishig OJSC Ramil Yusifov stressed that according to the results of the World Bank's Enterprise Survey 2024, Azerbaijan demonstrated better results in the main electricity indicators in the survey conducted with the participation of 368 enterprises than in many countries of the region. In particular, our country achieved the highest result in the frequency and duration of power outages.

In accordance with the agenda of the meeting, information on the implementation status of the roadmap for 2025 on the implementation of improvements and communications in the relevant field related to the Utilities (electricity) indicator of the Business Ready report was presented, and it was noted that all the goals set for the current year have been achieved. At the same time, the roadmap project for 2026 was discussed and the participants' opinions and suggestions on the project were collected.

At the end, it was decided to submit the roadmap project for 2026 to the Commission on Business Environment and International Rankings.
