Two solar power plants, 50MW “Ufug” and 50MW “Shams” are planned to be commissioned in 2027.
This was announced by Deputy Director of the Azerbaijan Renewable Energy Agency under the Ministry of Energy, Rena Humbatova, during the “Green Energy Week 2025: Azerbaijan and Central Asia” event held in Baku.
It should be recalled that during the Baku Energy Week 2025, agreements on land lease, power purchase, and grid connection were signed for the “Ufug” and “Shams” solar power plant projects to be built in the Jabrayil district. In addition, joint balancing contracts were signed with Norm OJSC in connection with the construction of these two plants.
